2009 Men's Cross Country Roster
Biography
Jordan has worked his way up the Wildcat roster from being a walk-on freshman to becoming an NCAA qualifier in track and an All-West Region cross country runner. Jordan’s breakout season was his sophomore year of cross country, where he finished 5th overall in the conference and 17th in the regional. He followed that season up with a 9:11 NCAA qualifier for the steeplechase on the track as a sophomore as well. During his junior year Jordan improved greatly as a cross country runner earning top placings at many invitationals throughout the season, and All-West Region honors at the end. Jordan’s junior year of track was almost completely washed out due to a stubborn Achilles injury that held him from training until late in the season. His one race was a bittersweet one. At the CCAA Championships in his first track race in nearly a year Fairley had moved into third place overall behind teammates Jose Garcia and Beau Rogers who would eventually take 1-2 overall. Jordan caught his toe on the final water barrier and flipped upside down into the water. The fall broke his toe, but he was able to scramble out of the water and down the straightaway, just holding onto the third place finish. Thankfully health has been on his side this summer and Jordan appears ready to enjoy his best year to date.
