Pre-Chico Days
Competed in cross country at Moorpark College in 2019…Won the Western State Conference Championships and was named the conference’s Athlete of the Year…A 2019 graduate of Westlake High School in Westlake Village…Four-time First Team All-Marmonte League selection…Name First Team All-Ventura County four times…Competed in the 400m dash, 800m, 1,600m, 3,200m, and 1-mile run, and 4x400m relay over three varsity seasons.

Born November 6, 2000, in Thousand Oaks…Son of Matthew Nienow and Rose Cricchio…Has one younger sibling, Luna…Chose to attend Chico State “because I believe they have a great exercise physiology department as well as it has always been my dream to compete with and help run for a championship team. It is also a nice change of scenery from where I grew up all my life”…His greatest sports moment is “the success I had at my community college; being part of a team that went from not qualifying for state to moving up to fifth in the state during our 2019 season”…Has learned by running cross country that “if you stay determined and committed and tell yourself you can do anything in your mind, then your body will perform based off what you tell yourself. Never give up when things get hard”…At the top of his bucket list: “Traveling the world and visiting every National Park in the U.S.”…Majoring in exercise physiology…Hopes to work in a physical therapy clinic after graduating, helping athletes rehabilitate from injuries.
