High School: Standout runner at Monte Vista HS in Spring Valley…Third place finish (16:39) at the 2009 San Diego Section D-3 finals, earning an individual state meet berth…Went on to run 15:56 at the State Meet a week later…On the track, recorded personal bests of 4:28 in the 1600m and 9:30 in the 3200m as a junior in 2009…Injuries hampered his senior year in track…Multiple-time All-Grossmont Valley League selection in cross country and track, including a runner-up finish in cross country in 2009.
