Pre-Chico Days
A cross country and track standout at American River College in Sacramento…On the XC courses, notched a 21:26 4 mile time at the Fresno Invitational during his sophomore year…Also placed fifth at the Lou Vasquez Invitational during an abbreviated season…On the track, established himself as a middle distance standout at ARC…Collected three Nor Cal titles during his two years of competition…As a freshman, won his first Nor Cal title in the 1,500m event (3:55) before placing second at the State Championships…Continued his success as a sophomore, recording a 3:53 1,500m PR at the Bryan Clay Invitational…Won both the 800 and 1,500 events at the Nor Cal Championships, running 1:53 and 4:04 times…Concluded his sophomore season with a third place finish at the State Championships in the 1,500m.
