2019–20
Opened the 2019 cross country season with a 17th place finish (8k time of 25:51.9) September 13 at the Stump Invitational…Posted 8k PR time of 25:41 on the way to a 26th place showing September 28, 2019 at the Capital Cross Challenge…Placed 29th October 12, 2019 at the Western Washington Classic, running the 10k course in 32:58.7…Wrapped up the year with a 31st place finish (9.75k time of 33:04) November 17, 2019 at the PAUSATF Cross Country Championships…Did not compete in the abbreviated 2020 track & field season.
2018–19
Raced only once during the cross country season due to injury, notching a 43rd place finish at the Doc Adams Invitational…Enjoyed a healthy campaign on the track, and the results showed…Opened the spring with a 4:10/2:04 double in the 1,500m and 800m at the Wildcat Invitational…Notched a 4:03 1,500m PR at the Hornet Invitational…Lopped two more seconds off his PR at the Fanelli Track Classic with a 4:01 run…The Chico Twilight Invitational brought another PR and Tomlinson’s first sub-four minute 1,500m time, stopping the clock at 3:58…Concluded the 2019 season with yet another 1,500m PR at the Bryan Clay invitational, crossing the finish line with a time of 3:57.
2017–18
Due to injury, raced only once in the fall season, finishing 37th at the Doc Adams Invitational…Competed sparingly on the oval…After a seasonal debut 1,500 of 4:11 at the Wildcat Invitational, suffered a season-ending injury during his race at the Hornet Invitational.
2016-2017
Redshirted both cross country and track & field in his first year at Chico State…Ran a limited cross XC due to summer injury...Opened the fall with a 26:53 8k at the Doc Adams Invitational….On the track, had another abbreviated season due to injury…Raced to a 4:07 1,500 meters at the San Francisco Distance Carnival…Sliced a second off his seasonal best for 1,500 with a 4:06 run at the Chico Twilight Invitational…Raced to a 4:04 1,500-meter PR at Cal’s Brutus Hamilton Open…Concluded season with a 4:07 at the West Coast Last Chance Invitational.
Pre-Chico Days
Placed third in the North County League cross country championships as a junior at Del Norte High School in San Diego…Helped lead the Nighthawks to league and and section championships…Finished sixth in the San Diego Section cross country championships as a senior, qualifying to compete at the state championships…Placed 28th in the State Championships, posting a 15:53 PR on the Woodward Park course…Two-time Avocado East League champion in the 1,600m event…Placed sixth at the San Diego Section championships in the 1,600, notching a 4:18 PR.

Born July 21, 1998, in Seattle, Washington…Son of Josh and Brenna…Has two younger siblings, Ashton and Caden…Favorite course at Chico State is Investment Theory, taught by Qingzhong Ma …Chose to attend Chico State because “we have the best cross country team in the nation. Gary Towne is the best coach in the sport. We have a great Wildcat Family!”…His greatest sports moment was being part of the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Sacramento…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is drive across the country…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is pursuing his graduate degree…Has learned by running cross country that “patience and dedication are two highly relevant attributes in success.
