Biography
2009-2010: Struggled with consistency as a junior…Logged the Wildcats’ fifth best time (25:33) in finishing 54th at the Stanford Invitational…Came in 98th place at the Willamette Invitational with a time of 26:19.15…Rebounded to finish seventh (25:35) at the CCAA Championships…Posted a 38th place showing in the NCAA West Regional Nov. 7…Chico State’s number two finisher in the NCAA Cross Country Championship, coming in 58th place with a time of 32:55.7…On the track, breathing issues forced his season to be cut short, but did post 5k times of 14:49.93 at the San Francisco Distance Carnival Mar. 26 and 14:48.29 Apr. 9 at the Chico Distance Carnival.
2008-2009: Led the Wildcats at the Aztec Invitational with a solid 12th place showing…Came in 17th place at the Stanford Invite with an 8k PR of 24:57…Placed fifth overall at the Willamette Invitational and enjoyed a second place CCAA Championship run, finishing behind eventual NCAA Champion and teammate Scott Bauhs…Among the top 4-5 runners in NCAA West Regional until the race was unexpectedly stopped 5-6k in due to a course discrepancy…A tight hamstring on the race’s second run dropped him from third overall (at 5k into the 10k) to an eventual 32nd place finish…Placed 53rd at the NCAA Championship to help Chico State to an eventual third place national finish…On the track, ran early season 8:43 and 14:46 PR’s for 3k and 5k distances, respectively…Breathing issues slowed his progress, leading to a 13th place finish in the 5k during the CCAA Track & Field Championships.
2007-2008: As a red shirt freshman, became an instrumental part of the Wildcat lineup… Placed 10th overall at the Chico Invitational and was 56th at the Stanford Invitational (25:17-8k)…Excelled in the post season, earning All-CCAA, All-West Region and All- American honors…Placed 11th at CCAA’s, eighth in the West Region race, and 20th at the NCAA Championships, capping off one of the best freshman seasons in Wildcat history…On the track, suffered with a bout of Mono in the early season and opened up late at the Mt Sac Invite, running an NCAA provisional qualifying 30:44 for the 10k and broke into the CSUC all time top-10 list…Finished the season with a third place CCAA finish in the 5k.
2006-2007: Sidelined most of the fall season with injuries, but found late season form and posted a time of 32:08 in the 10k Almond Bowl footrace…Missed the 2007 track season due to injuries.
High School: During senior year at De La Salle HS in Concord, posted a 15:10 at the Mt. Sac Invitational and a 15:55 mark on the Woodward Park state championship course.
