Biography

Solis excelled both in cross country and on the track in high school. As a harrier Anthony enjoyed a string of cross country races that included an individual CIF title (15:01 at Mt Sac),  a third place finish at the state championships (15:27) and a 17th place run at the Foot Locker West Regionals. He followed this up with an impressive 25:30 run over the 8-kilometer USATF Junior Cross Country course in San Diego, where he placed among the top 20 overall in his first national championship competition. Anthony picked up where he¹d left off in the spring, enjoying a string of track PRs that culminated with a 9:11 PR over 3,200-meters at the State Championships.

Since joining the 'Cats Anthony has redshirted both sports and has enjoyed some impressive results along the way.  Solis placed among the Top-12 at the Willamette Invitational in the fall of 2008, clocking a new 8-kilometer PR of 25:03.  In the Spring Solis would record the fastest 5k by a true frosh in CSUC history, running 14:40 at the Occidental Invitational.  His OXY run qualified him for the USATF Junior Track and Field Championships where Anthony competed in the 10,000m run.  He placed second overall at the USATF meet and qualified for the US Junior team for the Pan Am Games in Port
of Spain, Trinidad.  Chico¹s second USA team member placed fifth overall, thus ending a great year of racing.
