2018–19
Injuries limited running and racing throughout the year…In the fall, raced to a 40th place finish at the Doc Adams Invitational…On the track, Perez would place third in the 5k at the Woody Wilson Invitational…Earned a pair of CCAA All-Academic awards.
2017–18
Redshirted both cross country and track & field as a true freshman…Opened the fall season with an 11th place finish at the PA USATF Rebel Challenge 6k…Ran a 26:30 8k debut at the Capital Cross Challenge…The remainder of the cross country season was lost to injury…Injuries would derail the spring season as well.
Pre-Chico Days
Perez established himself as one of the top distance runners in the Sac Joaquin Section in 2016…Closed out his junior season of track with 9:33 and 9:29 runs at the Finals and Masters meets over the 3,200-meter distance...His senior year of cross country brought an individual league title and a sixth place finish at the Sac Joaquin championships…Finished the fall season with a 16:41 run at the State Championships…On the track, Perez notched an impressive 8:46 3k PR while placing third at the Stanford Invitational…Lowered his 3,200-meter PR to 9:20 at the Sacramento Meet of Champions, where he placed fifth...A 9:23 run at the Masters meet left him just shy of qualifying for the state championships (fifth place) over the 3,200-meter distance.
