Did not compete in track & field due to the COVID-19 pandemic…Earned two CCAA All-Academic honors…Received 2020–21 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
2020
Competed in two events at the March 6 Kim Duyst Invitational before the cancellation of the 2020 track & field season…Shared top honors in the high jump (1.63m), and placed fifth in the javelin (36.23m)…Earned two CCAA All-Academic honors and the conference’s annual Impact Award…Received the 2019–20 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
2019
Appeared in nine meets on the season…Placed first in the high jump (1.60m) April 13, 2019 at the Woody Wilson Invitational…Posted a personal best mark in the javelin (36.65m) May 4, 2019 at the CCAA Track & Field Championships, finishing fifth overall…Earned two CCAA All-Academic honors…Received the 2018–19 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
2018
Appeared in seven meets on the year…Took top honors in the high jump (1.63m) April 21, 2018 at the Yuba Last Chance Meet…Finished second in the javelin (32.12 m) and fifth in the high jump (1.57m) March 10, 2018 at the Wildcat Invitational…Earned two CCAA All-Academic honors.
2017
As a true freshman, competed in the heptathlon, as well as individual events including the javelin, long jump, high jump, 100m and 200m dash, and 100m hurdles…Scored a season-high 4,053 points in the heptathlon March 2–3, 2017 at the Chico Multi Classic.
Pre-Chico Days
A 2016 graduate of Nevada Union High School in Grass Valley…School record holder in the long jump (17-feet-11.5)…Earned All-Sierra Foothill League honors as a senior while winning the league long jump title…Competed in 100m, 200m, and 400m dash, 100m and 300m hurdles, 4x100m and 4x400m relay, and long jump during her four varsity seasons…Also lettered in volleyball, earning team MVP honors in 2012 and 2016…Selected for the postseason All-Star volleyball team as a senior.
Personal
Born December 26, 1997, in Daly City…Daughter of Sabri and Pam…Has two younger brothers, Ibrahim and Bakir…Her mom is her hero (“because she possesses the strength and grace that I strive to have”)…Admires any athlete that uses their platform to speak out about larger social issues…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “The Ohana, and because everyone from teammates to staff to professors genuinely care about your success”…Her greatest sports moment is “any moment that I achieve a personal best mark”…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is swim in the Dead Sea…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is graduating college with top honors…Has learned by competing in track & field that “through perseverance you can accomplish more than you think you are capable of”…Enjoys sleeping, cooking, and going adventuring to new places when she has some free time…Says cooking and working on passion projects are her biggest talents outside of track & field…Is a dual citizen of the United States and Israel…At the top of her bucket list: “Skydiving”…Best advice ever received: “Tough times don’t last, tough people do”…Graduated in 2020 with bachelor’s degrees in international relations and political science…Currently pursuing a master’s degree in public administration.
