Did not compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
2020
Competed in two events during the shortened 2020 track & field season, placing first in the pole vault (3.50m) and 13th in the javelin (25.95m) at the March 6, 2020 Kim Duyst Invitational.
 
Pre-Chico Days
Competed at Long Beach State in 2019…Posted personal best vault of 3.95m April 26, 2019 at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational…Ranks among Long Beach State’s top 10 pole vaulters…Began college career at Moorpark College, competing in the pole vault, javelin, discus, shot put, hammer, high jump, long jump, 100m dash, and 4x400m relay…Earned 2018 All-America and First Team Western State Conference honors…Holds Moorpark’s school pole vault record (3.53m)…Placed fourth in the pole vault at the CCCAA State Championships…A 2018 graduate of Westlake High School in Westlake Village…Did not compete in track & field in high school.
 
Personal
Born June 14, 1996, in Chengdu, China…Daughter of Stephen and Kitty…Has six siblings: Laura, Matthew, Sam, Thy, Peter, and Alex…The person she most admires in the sports world is Olympic gold medal gymnast Suni Lee “because of the passion, success, and voice she has in the sport of gymnastics”…Favorite course at Chico State is Sports and Society, taught by Sae-Mi Lee…Chose to attend Chico State “for the amazing team, athletes, coaches, and the opportunity to continue my kinesiology degree”…Her greatest sports moment is the Pole Vault Summit (“Building and breaking down an arena, 15 pole vault runways, 15 pits, competing, and doing it all in less than a week”)…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is travel to Vietnam and visit the orphanage her younger brother Thy was adopted from when he was four-years-old before bringing him back to America…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished: “After a long college journey, in the Spring of 2022, I will be a college graduate!”…Has learned by competing in track & field to “communicate goals, trust the process, and be open to new challenges”…Enjoys solving puzzles, kayaking, snowboarding, and coaching gymnastics when she has some free time…Says that gymnastics is her biggest talent outside of track & field…Has a metal plate and nine screws in her left arm from an ulna shortening surgery…At the top of her bucket list: “Visit the Great Wall of China”…Best advice she ever received she attributes to coaching legend John Wooden: “If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?”…Majoring in kinesiology…Plans a career as a gymnastics coach.
