Nordeen's 10-Assists-Per-Set Weekend Earns FloCollege/CCAA Honor

| By:
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Following an impressive weekend that saw the Chico State volleyball team go 3-1 at Cal Poly Humboldt's Redwood Coast Classic, sophomore Claire Nordeen was a key component to the successful road trip and for that she was selected to her first FloCollege/CCAA Setter of the Week award in her collegiate career.

A native of Fallbrook, Calif., Nordeen led the conference for the weekend with 10.0 assists per set while adding 18 kills on a .278 hitting percentage. She also contributed with 51 digs and seven service aces.

Nordeen ran a balanced, fast-paced offense that produced a team hitting percentage of .300 or better in three matches, including a .350 mark in a sweep of Jessup and a .318 mark in the fifth set of a win over previously unbeaten Oklahoma Christian.

She finished the weekend with three double-doubles, including a 45-assist, 18-dig performance in the five-set win over OC and 41 assists with 15 digs in a 3-1 match win over Dominican.

Entering the third week of the season, Nordeen leads the CCAA with 9.67 assists per set and ranks 12th in total digs (78).

She becomes the first Chico State volleyballer to win a conference weekly honor since Rebekah Boyle in the first week of the 2017 season.

After going 4-3 to start the season, the Wildcats will open up Acker Gymnasium for the first time in 2025-26, taking on defending conference champions Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday followed by Cal State LA on Saturday. Both matches are at 5 p.m.
