SAN MARCOS, Calif. - A weekend the Wildcats will be looking past, as Chico State softball drops the series finale to Cal State San Marcos on Saturday.
The 'Cats drop to 19-19 (11-17 CCAA), falling in the CCAA standings to eighth place behind the Lumberjacks.

It was another cold morning at the plate for the Chico State Wildcats as they managed to tally three hits against the Cougars in the 8-0 loss. The 'Cats had six blemishes on the box score, with six errors throughout Saturday's matchup occurring in the infield.
Bella Tavares and Amelie Valdez struck out a single batter in the circle, and there were no walks from the duo.
Game 2 | Chico 7, CSUSM 8
The Wildcats jumped to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning of the series finale as Marissa Anderson recorded her first career home run, driving in three runs.
Both teams continued to trade blows throughout the game, with the Cougars taking a two-run lead in the fifth, and the 'Cats were unable to respond with a lead of their own.
Kennedy Gustin and Marissa Anderson were the offensive leaders in the fourth game of the weekend, with two hits apiece. Gustin scored three runs, while Anderson tallied four RBIs against the Cougars.
Chico State softball will have a bye week before heading to Hayward in their final road series at Cal State East Bay on April 18th.
