CHICO, Calif. - An incredible season from the Chico State men's basketball team comes to a close after an overtime loss to Central Washington. The Wildcats overcame a 20-point deficit to bring the game into an extra period, but a tough stretch of baskets from CWU sealed their fate. 
 
CCAA Player of the Year Jojo Murphy scored 28 in Friday's contest, capping his junior season with an impressive showing after a campaign filled with milestones and achievements. 
 
Caden Harris and Trae Taylor played strong supporting roles, adding double-digit points against CWU. 
 
The team's climb from 20 points down was due to a commendable 58-percent shooting performance in the second half, and the 'Cats sunk ten of thirteen foul shot attempts to force the extra five minutes.  
 
Chico State struggled from beyond the arc, suffering a 23-percent shooting total throughout the game, unlike CWU's twelve long range baskets.  
 
The team concludes the 2024-25 campaign with a 24-8 overall record, a second-place finish in the CCAA regular season and postseason tournament, and a flurry of incredible moments from the team.
