ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – It didn't take long for Chico State's Jordan Ausbie to earn an NCAA provisional stamp and the CCAA tabbed the decathlete its first FloCollege/CCAA Field Athlete of the Week Award of the 2025 season on Tuesday.
 
It is Ausbie's third CCAA Athlete of the Week award in his career, having earned once in each of the last two seasons.
 
Ausbie opened the campaign at the 41^st annual Chico State Multi Classic, earning 6,535 points in the decathlon to set the bar around the conference already. Along the way to taking first in the meet, Ausbie also took event wins in the high jump in 1.85 meters and the long jump in 6.29 meters.
 
With the season now underway, the Wildcats will leave Butte County for the first time and participate in Stanislaus State's Kim Duyst Invitational Friday and Saturday.
