KENOSHA, Wis. – On an overcast but calm morning at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course, the Chico State men's cross country team capped its season with a 15th-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships. The Wildcats, making their 26th consecutive appearance and 31st overall at the national meet, posted a team score of 431 in a deep 10k field.
Junior Mario Giannini led the Wildcats for the third straight NCAA Championships, placing 51st overall in 31:01.1. He was followed closely by senior Jesus Villarreal in 62nd (31:13.5), junior Matthew Gordon in 78th (31:29.1), junior Damian Garcia in 95th (31:48.6), and freshman Jackson Stream, who rounded out the scoring five in 145th place (32:21.2).
Sophomore Sergio Cuartas III (166th) and senior Travis Selby (169th) also competed, helping the team secure its 26th consecutive top-15 national finish.
