TURLOCK, Calif. – First half goals from Makayla Cruz-Martinez and Taylor McMahon lifted Chico State to a 2–1 road victory over Stanislaus State on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Warrior Stadium. With the win, the Wildcats improved to 7-5-2 overall (5-2-0 CCAA), while the Warriors dropped to 6-4-4 (2-3-2 CCAA).

How it happened
Chico State seized control early behind a dominant first half from Makayla Cruz-Martinez and Taylor McMahon, notching her second goal of the season and giving the 'Cats the early lead.
Cruz-Martinez opened the scoring in the 21st minute, finishing a setup from McMahon, and the senior striker struck again in the 23rd minute with a strong effort from the edge of the box.
The Warriors pulled one back in the 51st minute when Jocelin Roa converted a penalty kick, but Chico's back line—anchored by Gabby Starr, Malia Bell, and Klayre Barres—held firm the rest of the way.
Kennedy Briseno made one save in the win, while Zara Mujica finished with three stops for Stanislaus.
