ARCATA, Calif. – The Chico State volleyball team's longest road trip of the season came to an end on Saturday at Lumberjack Arena, where Cal Poly Humboldt defeated the Wildcats in three sets (15-25, 23-25, 10-25).
Chico State falls to 8-15 overall and 5-11 in the CCAA while Humboldt moves to 8-16 overall and 4-12 in conference play.
Although both sides had identical number of attack attempts, the Wildcats had difficulty keeping it inside the lines. They hit .008 in the match, recording 26 kills but missing the line 25 times. The Lumberjacks, meanwhile, had 33 kills and 14 errors to post a .151 average.
The Wildcat defense was busy. Jessie Camarillo had 22 of Chico State's 68 total digs. Freshman Jessica Ortiz made 15 digs for a season-high while Jillian Davis and Claire Nordeen had 10.
Nordeen also had 21 assists to complete a double-double, her seventh on the season.
Maria Wahl led the offensive line with 10 kills.
With the road schedule complete, the Wildcats will finish the regular season at Acker Gym, starting with Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday at 5 p.m. The Wildcats beat the Otters in four sets in their last meeting in Seaside back in September.
