Wildcats Claim Fourth Straight in Win Over Penguins

Afifi and Harris Lead 'Cats With 16 Points Each

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - The Wildcats capture their first road game of the season in a visit to the Bay for a matchup against PacWest opponents Dominican University. Chico State Men's Basketball entered Sunday's game 3-0 with solid wins against non-conference opponents all at home.

The Wildcats now improve to 4-0 with their 82-73 win over the Penguins, pulling away in the second half to secure their fourth straight victory.

Adam Afifi and Caden Harris dropped 16 points, leading the 'Cats in points, with Joshua Hamilton not far behind with 15 of his own.

The Wildcats were just over 50 percent from the field, going 31-61 in their nine-point win.

Harris posted another strong stat line in his fourth game with the Wildcats, bringing down five rebounds, three of them being offensive boards. He added three assists, making two of his three attempts from beyond the arc.

Senior Joshua Hamilton put on an impressive showing in the win over the Penguins, scoring 15 points and recording two steals. Hamilton was scoring consistently from all over the court, shooting 5 for seven from the field and sinking two of his three from beyond the arc.

Evan Oliver came off the bench for nine points and went flawless from the three-point line 3 for 3. Oliver has been a vital part of the Cats' backcourt through the early season and continues to be a strong presence off the bench.

They will return home next week for two home contests against CCAA opponents, starting with Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and then the Broncos of CPP on Saturday.
