Another first place finish means another CCAA Runner of the Week honor for Chico State's Daniel Hernandez.
 
The sophomore from Vacaville ran a time of 24:42.0 at the SF State Invitational for his second straight meet win. Despite securing the top of the podium again, he missed his season-best time of 24:27.4 that was set at the Cougar Invitational in San Marcos two weeks ago.
 
Hernandez led five other Chico State runners to a top 10 finish and helped the Wildcats cruise to another team win at the invitational, scoring 22 points to best second-place finisher CUI, which had 66 points.
 
It is the third straight time the Wildcat men's squad has captured CCAA Runner of the Week. Giannini took the first one after winning Western Oregon's Ash Creek Invitational and then Hernandez won his first after winning the Cougar Invitational at Cal State San Marcos two weeks ago.
 
The Wildcats will seek their 21^st consecutive CCAA Championship on October 21, held at Quarry Lakes Regional Recreational Area in Fremont. The men's meet will begin at the conclusion of the women's race at 10 a.m.
