CHICO, Calif. - The host takes home the win with Chico State taking over the lead by three strokes to beat out the Seawolves after the final round. Tyler Ashmon and Naoki Easterday led the way for the Wildcats with two of the lowest rounds of the day to give their team the edge needed to take the title.
Chico State's "A" squad finished the tournament in the top spot, carding an overall score of 14-under par 850. Senior Tyler Ashman finished the day with a 5-under 67 in fifth, earning all-tournament honors alongside his teammate.
Dakota Ochoa earned a top 15 finish with a 2-under 214 at the home tournament, carding 11 birdies throughout the 54 holes.
The day's lowest round was from a member of the Wildcats "B" team, with Giacomo Sorrentino shooting a 6-under 66, finishing in a tie for third on the individual leaderboard. His team finished in a tie for fourth with Dominguez Hills at 2-under par.Â
Brayden Russo of Chico State "B" recorded a 1-under 215 performance, coming in second on the second Wildcat squad and tying for 15th overall.
John Kim of CSU San Bernardino represented the Yotes with another consistent round of 68, winning the playoff hole against Cal State East Bay's Easton Hether to take the individual title. Kim shot three 4-under rounds over the two-day invitational, carding fifteen birdies.
Sonoma State finished in second place overall, led by Lucas Happy, who finished with a combined 7-under par 209, tied for sixth with Easterday of Chico. Teammate Colin Huang finished in a tie for ninth, rounding out the top ten placements with a 2-under 70 for his final round and an overall 4-under 212 tournament score.

The Wildcats will conclude their fall schedule in Monterey Bay at the Otter Invitational starting on October 16th at the Bayonet & Black Golf Course.Â
