The 16th-ranked Chico State women's soccer team suffered its first California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) loss at home since 2019 Sunday, falling 1-0 against Cal State LA in a match controlled by the Golden Eagles. Chico State slipped to 5-2-3 overall and 2-1-1 in the CCAA while Cal State LA moved to 5-2-3 overall and 2-0-2 in the CCAA.

Cal State LA outshot the Wildcats 20-3 and enjoyed an 11-0 edge in corner kicks. Chico State's back third was under pressure throughout the day but held firm while Emma Hofmann made seven saves.

The Golden Eagles' goal came in the 34
th minute when Kimberly Gamez headed a cross toward the far post and Erin Shrock muscled it past Hofmann inside the right post.

The Wildcats will be back in action Thursday at 7 p.m. against Cal State East Bay.
