On the brink of winning the California Collegiate Athletic Association attendance title once again in 2019–20, the Chico State men's basketball team is hoping to garner its biggest crowds of the campaign for its final four home games of the regular season.
With an epic clash featuring the 24
th-ranked Wildcats hosting 4
th-ranked UC San Diego Thursday night at Acker Gym kicking things off, there is plenty of reason to expect Acker Gym to be crowded and loud. The same goes for Saturday night, when the Wildcats host Cal State San Marcos. Both games are scheduled to tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
Chico State, 16-4 on the season and 11-3 in CCAA play, handed UC San Diego (21-1, 15-1) its lone loss of the season on Dec. 5 in La Jolla. The Wildcats will presumably need to accomplish what no other team has been able to once again to keep their hopes for a fourth CCAA title in the past nine years alive.
Cal State San Marcos will enter Saturday's game 11-11 overall and 7-9 in the CCAA.
Students with a valid student ID receive free admission to all regular-season athletic events. For all others, tickets for both games may be purchased by calling the University Box Office at 530-898-6333 or visiting the office at the corner of West Third and Chestnut Streets. They will go on sale at Acker Gym beginning an hour prior to the women's team's 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
The games will also be broadcast locally on FM 93.9 KPAY. Links to streaming audio, streaming video, and live stats are available at
