The women's soccer coaches of the West Region have spoken. They had a lot of good things to say about the Chico State women's soccer program. Juniors Sarah Emigh and Jordan Doukakis are both United Soccer Coaches All-West Region selections.
 
The All-Region honor, announced Monday, is the first of Doukakis' collegiate career. The junior defender led the Wildcats with four assists and added a trio of goals to tie for the team lead with 10 points. Now with 12 career assists, she'll head into her senior season needing three more to break into the program's career top-10 list and eight more to become just the fourth player in the history of the program to reach 20.
 
Doukakis collected honorable mention All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) honors in 2017 and 2019. She is majoring in biology.
 
This is the latest in a long line of accolades for Emigh, who enjoys her second All-West Region recognition. The junior midfielder was a First Team All-CCAA and First Team All-West Region selection as a sophomore and earned Second Team All-CCAA accolades this year.
 
Emigh has also excelled academically, earning 2019 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors, the 2018 CCAA Championship Scholar Award, a 2018–19 Division II Athletic Director Academic Achievement Award, and a trio of CCAA All-Academic honors.
 
Emigh, the 15th player in the program's history to earn two All-West Region honors, is double majoring in pre-nursing and psychology and has applied for admission to Chico State's nationally-acclaimed nursing program. She can become the eighth to win the honor three times next season.
 
Doukakis and Emigh are two of 39 student-athletes selected from the West Region's 35 Division II women's soccer programs.
 
Doukakis is one of 12 defenders chosen, and one of only three non-seniors. Emigh is one of 12 midfielders.
 
The Wildcats lose only two athletes to graduation this season following an 8-8-2 campaign and are set to return as many as 10 starters, Emigh and Doukakis included.
