LA JOLLA—The Chico State men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision Friday night against UC San Diego in La Jolla. The Wildcats out-shot the Tritons 7-6 but could not find the back of the net.
Substitute Noah Ross paced the Wildcats with three shots, including a pair that were on goal. Garrett Hogbin and Alex Fluitt also had second-half shots saved.
UC San Diego's Brett Jones' goal in the 32
nd minute proved to be the match winner. Jones' blast to the near upper-V came from just inside the 18-yard box.
UC San Diego improved to 10-3-0 overall, 5-2-0 in the CCAA, and 8-3-0 at home.
Chico State has now lost three straight after a sensational start, falling to 7-4-0 overall and 3-4-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. They'll attempt to pull out of that slide Sunday when they take on Cal State San Marcos in Southern California.

After this weekend, the Wildcats will be at Stanislaus State Wednesday, October 30, before returning home to play their final three regular-season matches at University Soccer Stadium.
