SAN RAMON – For Jalen McFerren, being a part of the point guard heritage of Oakland is a point of pride. Portland Trailblazers guard Damian Lillard, recently left off the NBA All-Star roster once again, is his favorite athlete. Apparently, McFerren is representing Oakland when it comes to the awards circuit. The Castro Valley High School product was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time in seven weeks Tuesday.
McFerren averaged 16.5 points, nine rebounds, and three assists per game while leading the Wildcats into sole possession of first place in the conference standings with a pair of wins over the weekend.
