SEASIDE – The Chico State men's soccer team earned its first point of its California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) campaign by playing to a scoreless draw at Cal State Monterey Bay Sunday.
Damion Lewis made five saves for the Wildcats in posting his second clean sheet of the season.
Chico State's offensive struggles continued. The Wildcats mustered just five shots in the match, only two of which were on frame. The Wildcats, 1-3-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the CCAA, have now been held scoreless four times in six matches.
Otters goalkeeper Andrew Garcia saved Frankie Palmer's shot in the 2nd minute of the match, and Garcia turned Esten Schroeder's try away in the second minute of overtime.

Lewis came up big for the Wildcats in overtime, making four saves.
Omar Nuño, who has scored all four of Chico State's goals this season, was limited to just two shots by a physical Cal State Monterey defense that was whistled for 19 fouls and four yellow cards. Nuño had the only shot of the second overtime for Chico State, but his attempt with just over five minutes to play sailed high.
The Wildcats will look to get in the win column in conference play next weekend when the travel to take on Cal State San Marcos Friday at 3 p.m. and UC San Diego Sunday morning at 11:30.
