23rd-ranked Wildcats hit the road for games at San Francisco State, Cal State East Bay

The Chico State and San Francisco State men's basketball teams will face off for the 200th  time Friday at San Francisco State in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opener for both teams. For the first time, they'll do it on the small screen.

Comcast Hometown Network (channel 104 for Comcast customers in Northern and Central California) will broadcast both games of the doubleheader. The women's game is scheduled to tip at 5:30 and the men's matchup at approximately 7:30.

The Wildcats will continue their weekend Bay Area road trip at Cal State East Bay Saturday at 7:30.

Every Chico State basketball this season will be broadcast locally on Newstalk 1290 KPAY-AM. Links to streaming audio, video and live stats are available in the calendar section on the ChicoWildcats.com homepage and on the men's basketball schedule page.

Chico State enters conference play ranked No. 23 in the nation with a record of 5-1. The Wildcats – picked to win their third CCAA title in five years prior to the season – are unbeaten in four games away from Acker Gym.

San Francisco State is 5-0 and off to its best start since 2008-09.

The Gators hold a 101-98 advantage in the all-time series between these long-time Far West Conference, Northern California Athletic Conference, and now CCAA rivals. But Chico State has dominated the Gators of late, having won five straight, eight of nine, and 25 of the past 38 meetings.

Cal State East Bay (3-3) is coming off perhaps the biggest win of former Chico State assistant Gus Argenal's head coaching career. The Pioneers beat perennial CCAA power Cal State San Bernardino 81-70 Wednesday night in San Bernardino.

The Wildcats are 49-32 all time against Cal State East Bay having won eight straight and 12 of the past 13 against the Pioneers.

Chico State has won six consecutive regular-season road games and nine of their last 10. If the Wildcats are to keep that streak alive, they'll have to do so in hostile environments. San Francisco State is expecting a sellout at "The Swamp" and having a "purple-out" promotion

Saturday night will be much the same as Cal State East Bay has a "Blackout Saturday" promotion scheduled.

The Wildcats hope to leave both teams singing the blues.
