Men’s basketball takes on Academy of Art at Kezar Pavillion

The Chico State men's basketball team will wrap up its tour of the Bay Area on Tuesday with a game at Academy of Art at 7:30.

The 17th-ranked Wildcats (2-0) opened the season with a 92-66 win against Montana State University-Billings at the CCAA/PacWest Challenge in Hayward. They won 96-75 at Dominican Univerity of California in San Rafael last Thursday.

Tuesday's game will take part in Kezar Pavillion.

Every Chico State basketball this season will be broadcast locally on Newstalk 1290 KPAY-AM. Links to streaming audio, video and live stats are available in the calendar section on the ChicoWildcats.com homepage and on the men's basketball schedule page.

While the families and friends of the program's numerous Bay Area products have undoubtedly enjoyed this stretch of games, the team's local fans are excited for the Wildcats to return home for the Carl's Jr. Mac Martin Invitational this Friday and Saturday.

Chico State will take on Seattle Pacific Friday night at 7:30 and Simpson University Saturday at 7:30. Cal State East Bay will face Simpson Friday and Seattle Pacific Saturday. Both games will tip at 5:30.

But before all that, Academy of Art will look to spoil the Wildcats' quest for a preseason Bay Area sweep.

The Urban Knights are 2-2. After beating CCAA schools Cal State Monterey Bay and Sonoma State to start the season, they lost to San Francisco State and Sonoma State last weekend at the Sonoma State invitational.

Chico State hopes to continue its torrid offensive start while improving upon its defense, which has allowed more than 70 points per game after ranking among the nation's best in terms of points allowed in each of the past four seasons.
