Strong regular-season finishes have helped propel the Chico State men's basketball team into the NCAA Championship Tournament in each of the past two seasons. The Wildcats are hoping to take a similar path in 2014.
The Wildcats are 15-5 overall and 11-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with six regular season games to play. The next four will be on the road beginning Friday at Cal State L.A. and Saturday at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
After traveling to Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay Feb. 21-22, the Wildcats will wrap up the regular season at home against Humboldt State on Feb. 28 and Cal Poly Pomona March 1.
All six games will be broadcast locally on AM-1290 KPAY and online via the Wildcat Webcast link.
Chico State, coming off a thrilling 86-82 overtime victory against first-place Cal State San Bernardino, won its last seven regular season games last year and finished the 2011-12 campaign by winning five of six and 10 of its last 12.
They beat Cal State L.A. 75-46 on Jan. 11 in Chico. Sean Park, Rashad Parker and Jordan Semple scored 14 points apiece in the win, while Amir Carraway contributed 11 points and seven rebounds.
They beat Cal State Dominguez Hills 79-65 on Jan. 10 behind Carraway's 25-point, 11-rebound double-double. Parker poured in 22 points and five assists and Sean Park scored 16.
The weekend of its loss to Chico State was the beginning of a very rough stretch for Cal State L.A., which opened the season 9-1. Since then the Golden Eagles have dropped seven of 10 to fall to 12-8 overall and 9-7 in the CCAA.
Cal State Dominguez Hills has also fallen on hard times, having lost 12 of 15 since starting the season 4-4.
MILESTONE WATCH
Semple is two blocked shots shy of setting a new Chico State career record of 90. Ben Perak (89) is the current record holder.

th Wildcat to reach that milestone and the fourth member of the 2010-11 team. Park, Roderick Hawkins and Damario Sims are the others.
Rashad Parker needs two more 3-pointers to move past Andy Butcher into 10
th on Chico State's career threes list.
