55th Carl’s Jr. Mac Martin Invitational this weekend

The Thanksgiving table isn't the only place to gorge on good stuff this week. The Chico State men's basketball team will play three games at home beginning with Tuesday's tangle against William Jessup and culminating with the 55th annual Carl's Jr. Mac Martin Invitational Friday and Saturday.

William Jessup will visit for a 7 o'clock tip Tuesday night. The Wildcats will play Dominican Friday night at 7:30 and Azusa Pacific Saturday at 7:30. San Francisco State will face Azusa Pacific Friday at 5:30 to open the Carl's Jr. Mac Martin Invitational and Dominican Saturday at 5:30.

Freshman Isaiah Ellis is averaging 8.5 points and a team-high six
rebounds per game.
All of the games will be games will be streamed live at ChicoWildcats.com where links to livestats and audio (Chico State games only) will also reside on the homepage and men's basketball schedule page. The Chico State games will all be broadcast locally on AM-1290 KPAY.

The 19th-ranked Wildcats are off to a 2-0 start, having opened the season with wins of 104-62 over Pacific Union and 74-64 over Alaska Anchorage at last weekend's Sonoma State Ron Logsdon Basketball Classic.

Robert Duncan was the Tournament's Most Valuable Player and Corey Silverstrom and Jordan Semple joined him on the All-Tournament team.

But it was truly a team effort. Nine different Wildcats averaged 5.5 points per game or more and all 10 active players played a minimum of 10 minutes per game.

Semple enters the week 10 points shy of becoming the 15th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau. He's also 20 rebounds shy of matching Aaron Martella for third in school history.

The Wildcats will attempt to lengthen a pair of nice win streaks this week. They're 15-0 against NCAA Division III and NAIA schools during Clink's tenure and 7-0 against Pacific West Conference teams. Both Azusa Pacific (2-1) entering this weekend's games and Dominican (1-2) are members of the Pacific West.
