WALNUT CREEK – Damario Sims, Rashad Parker and Amir Carraway each collected 2011-12 Second Team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Sims, a First Team All-CCAA and Second Team All-West Region pick last season, leads the Wildcats and ranks fourth in the CCAA in assists, and averages 8.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. The senior from West Oakland will be making his 87th straight start in tonight’s CCAA Championship Tournament opener and ranks among Chico State’s career top 10 in points, assists and made 3-pointers.
This is the first All-CCAA selection for juniors Carraway and Parker. Carraway is averaging 11.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and nearly a blocked shots and steal per game. He ranks among the CCAA’s top 20 in points per game, field-goal percentage, 3-pointers made, 3-point percentage, free throw percentage, and blocked shots.
Parker grabbed a starting job early in the campaign and has raised his averages to 11.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. He leads the league in free throw shooting, ranks second in 3-pointers per game.
