LIVERMORE – Comcast Hometown Network, Comcast’s regional cable network covering Northern and Central California, recently announced that it will televise 25 basketball games as part of its ever-expanding Comcast Hometown Sports (CHS) programming. Six of those games will feature Chico State, beginning with a doubleheader against Cal State L.A. on Jan. 22.
Chico State doubleheaders against Sonoma State on Feb. 21 and Humboldt State on Feb. 22 are also scheduled to be broadcast.
The games, which will be available on Channel 104 to all Comcast digital cable customers throughout Northern and Central California, will include men’s and women’s high school and college contests.
Dan Dibley of sports radio station KNBR 680-AM, who has worked on Comcast Hometown Network’s sports broadcasts for the last two years, will handle play-by-play duties for all games. Former Chico State assistant coach Kathy Brandt will handle color commentary for the six Chico State games. All games will be produced by CHN sports director Erik Alves and directed by Gary Wasley.
"These top-flight match-ups continue Comcast Hometown Network’s long-standing commitment to provide compelling, local programming," said Jeff Giles, Director of Comcast Hometown Network. "Basketball fans throughout Northern and Central California have a new network to add to their list of sports channels.”
All of the telecasts will also be available via Comcast's popular On Demand platform, which is free to Comcast digital customers and allows viewers to pause, rewind and fast-forward the games. To view the games via On Demand, Comcast digital customers should tune to Channel 1 (On Demand) and select Get Local > Local Sports > High School Basketball.
