CHICO, Calif. – It’s been nearly a month, but Acker Gym will once again be the site of exciting CCAA basketball action, as both the Chico State men’s and women’s teams host the Humboldt State Lumberjacks Friday night and the Sonoma State Seawolves Saturday.

The Wildcats return home following last weekend’s southern California road swing that saw the men (4-7 on the season, 1-3 in CCAA play) split their games with Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino.  The women (5-6 season, 1-3 CCAA) suffered a pair of heartbreaking losses by a combined total of five points.

The last time the Wildcat women played at home was December 13, when they lost to Seattle Pacific 76-56 in the final game of the CCAA/GNAC Challenge.  This weekend will mark the first time the Wildcat men have played at Acker Gym since December 11, when they defeated Pacific Union College 87-34.

Tip-off for the women’s games are 5:30 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, with the men’s games slated to start at 7:30.  Mike Baca will provide the play-by-play on ESPN Radio 101.7 in Chico and on the Internet via the Wildcats athletics Website.  You can also follow the games using the Live Stats link on the ‘Cats Website.
