SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. The Chico State women's basketball team made only one basket during 10 minutes spanning the end of the first half and the beginning of the second half and never recovered, falling at Cal State San Bernardino 61-51. The loss dropped the Wildcats into a first-place tie with the Coyotes atop the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standings at 12-3. They split their season series.

Chico State led 23-22 after Natasha Smith's 3-pointer with 2:22 remaining in the first half. But San Bernardino finished the half on an 8-0 run and never trailed again. Melissa Richardson scored the first bucket of the second half to draw the Wildcats to within 30-25, but San Bernardino scored the next seven points and led by at least six for the rest of the game.

The loss snapped Chico State's six-game winning streak. The 13th-ranked team in the nation entering the weekend, the Wildcats fell to 19-5 overall. Jade Smith-Williams led the Wildcats with 14 points, four assists, and three steals. Smith and Audriana Spencer finished with 10 points apiece.

Cal State San Bernardino All-America candidate Vanessa Wilt shot just 4-of-12, but finished with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Leslie Pickron buried four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points off the bench.
