ARCATA, Calif.  —Sophomore outside hitter Gillian Heydorff pounded down a match-high 21 kills as 19th-ranked Chico State claimed a 30-22, 30-21, 30-25 over Humboldt State in California Collegiate Athletic Association volleyball action Friday.

The Wildcats improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the CCAA with the victory, while Humboldt State fell to 4-5 overall and 0-1 in the CCAA.

Heydorff hit .404 to lead the Wildcats, while Lindsay Macias tallied nine kills. Erica Brick finished with 33 assists and notched nine digs. Lacy Stringfellow led all players with 18 digs, while Macias and Kelly Smiland chipped in 11 apiece.

The Wildcats hit .292 for the match, while limiting the Lumberjacks to a .117 hitting percentage thanks in part to 63 digs.

Chico State is back in action next Friday night at Acker Gym for a huge conference showdown with 9th-ranked UC San Diego, and then hosts 20th-ranked Cal State L.A. Saturday night.
