Wildcat Softball Field
Wildcat Softball Field serves as the home of Chico State softball, offering a competitive and welcoming environment that reflects the program’s tradition and success.
Nestled among Northern California greenery, Wildcat Softball Field provides an intimate game-day atmosphere where fans can enjoy a close-up view of the action while supporting the Wildcats. The facility offers a variety of spectator seating options to enhance the fan experience. Traditional bleacher seating provides a great view behind home plate, while the outfield grass areas offer a more relaxed setting where fans can bring their own chairs or blankets and enjoy the game in a family-friendly environment.
The venue has also played host to championship-caliber moments. In 2018, Chico State welcomed both the NCAA West Regional and West Super Regional, turning its home field into a postseason stage. The Wildcats capitalized on the opportunity, capturing the NCAA West Region title for the second time in program history in front of their home crowd.
In 2025, Wildcat Softball Field underwent a significant and much-needed transformation, elevating both the student-athlete experience and overall facility functionality. A state-of-the-art batting cage complex was added, providing a covered, high-quality training space that allows for year-round development. The bullpen area was renovated to enhance preparation and performance for the pitching staff.
Additional upgrades include a brand-new scoreboard featuring clear inning-by-inning scoring, improving the game-day experience for fans and visitors alike. A newly designed team area with picnic-style seating offers a comfortable space for student-athletes to gather, fostering connection and strengthening team culture.
Together, these enhancements build on the foundation of Wildcat Softball Field, reinforcing Chico State’s commitment to providing a first-class environment for its student-athletes while preserving the tradition and atmosphere that make the facility a special place to compete.
