She may not be the flashiest player or command a lot of headlines, but Reilani Peleti’s countless contributions to the Wildcats’ success cannot be overstated. Throughout her entire Chico State softball career, Peleti has delivered consistent production at the plate while serving as a defensive anchor on the infield. As she proved once again in a series sweep of Stanislaus State, the Santa Rosa product continues to be at the heart of the ’Cats’ attack, with her outstanding efforts making Peleti the latest Wildcat of the Week.

Peleti batted safely in all four contests against the Warriors, batting .417 (5-for-12) and driving in six runs as the Wildcats took four straight against Stanislaus, running their current winning streak to 10 in a row and improving to 34-11 on the season. Peleti reached base seven times in 14 plate appearances, while defensively played flawlessly at first base.

In Friday’s series-opening doubleheader, Peleti knocked in the ’Cats’ final run in a 5-0 game one victory over Stanislaus, then came back in the nightcap to deliver a two-run double in a 7-4 Wildcat win. Saturday, the senior went a combined 3-for-5 and drove in three more runs as Chico State swept a twin bill from the Warriors for the second straight day.

Peleti is currently tied for 12th among all CCAA hitters this season with a .376 batting average, and ranks in the conference’s top 20 in hits (50), doubles (9), runs batted in (26), slugging percentage (.532), and on-base percentage (.431).

Peleti has been producing from the minute she joined the program in 2018. Her career batting average of .350 ranks seventh all-time in Chico State softball history.

Peleti and the Wildcats wrap up the regular season at home Friday and Saturday with a four-game series against Sonoma State before moving on to the CCAA Tournament May 5–8 in Seaside.
