Freshman Damario Sims posted two of his most impressive efforts of the season over the weekend to earn Wildcat of the Week honors. Sims, a product of Oakland's McClymonds High School, averaged 11 points, 5.3 rebounds and a steal per game.
Sims scored 14 points in 25 minutes of action of the bench in the Wildcats' 66-56 loss at Cal State Stanislaus last Tuesday. He also posted four rebounds and a steal.
Sims scored three points and grabbed a pair of rebounds in the Wildcats' 62-61 win against Cal State L.A. Friday night. His lone bucket, a 3-pointer, capped a crucial 8-2 Wildcats' run that got them back in the game in the first half.
Saturday, Sims put together one of the most impressive freshman performances by a Chico State freshman in recent memory, pumping in a team-high 16 points and pulling down 10 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Sims also grabbed a pair of steals.
