Chico State Athletics

Matt Hurlow scored 17 goals during his four-year career in a Chico State men's soccer uniform. His second career goal beat rival Sonoma State in Rohnert Park. One broke the Chico State record for quickest goal to start a match. Another came in the NCAA Championship Tournament.
 
Hurlow's final goal was unforgettable as well. It tied the match in the second half against San Francisco State on Saturday and would never have happened without Hurlow's tenacity, strength and skill.
 
The third time was a charm for Hurlow.
 
His header from about 12 yards was blocked by a defender but rolled back to him. He quickly tried again, and this time his volley bounced once and then off the top of the crossbar right back to him. This time he left no doubt, cracking a scorcher with his right boot into the left corner of the net.
 
The goal was Hurlow's 17th. Eight of those were game winners. He also finished his career with eight assists. 
 
Hurlow and the Wildcats wrapped up the season on a five-match unbeaten streak but fell just one point shy of the postseason. Hurlow finished the season with a California Collegiate Athletic Association-high 59 shots.
