Makenzie Snyder was the driving force behind Chico State’s success last week, as the Wildcats took five consecutive matches to run the team’s season record to 8-1 and its current winning streak to six straight. For her efforts, Snyder has been chosen as this week's female Wildcat of the Week.
The sophomore from Placerville piled up 73 kills, 34 digs and eight service aces in 16 sets, registering double-digit kills in all five matches. Snyder’s most impressive performance came Friday against Notre Dame de Namur in the Wildcats’ opening match of last weekend’s California Clash – in four sets, she hammered out 22 kills, contributed 16 digs on the defensive end and delivered a pair of service aces.
Snyder enters this week leading all California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) players in kills (144) and points (161.5), while ranking second in the conference in average kills per set (4.80).
