On what seems like a weekly basis, Bailey Henshaw has seen to it that her name is a permanent fixture in Chico State's track & field record books. Already this season the senior from Visalia posted the program's fastest-ever time in the 800-meter run and joined the all-time top 10 in the 1,500 and 4x400 relay. Saturday at the Sacramento State Open, Henshaw obliterated even those lofty achievements, smashing her own 800 record and contributing to a new school-best time in the 4x400. Her memorable afternoon at Hornet Stadium makes Henshaw the latest Wildcat of the Week.
Â
Henshaw slashed two seconds off her existing school record in the 800, winning the event with an NCAA Championships Automatic qualifying time of 2:07.67. It's the fifth fastest time in the nation this season and four seconds faster than anyone in a Chico State uniform had run previous to this year.
Â
Chico State's record in the 4x400 relay also fell at the Sacramento State Open, as Henshaw teamed with Olivia Watt, Aja Erskine and Marina Berrios to post an NCAA Provisional qualifying time of 3:47.05, breaking the Wildcats' previous all-time mark by 1.65 seconds.

Henshaw now prepares for the ultimate prize – All-America honors – as she wraps up her Chico State career competing at the NCAA Track & Field Championships May 21-23 in Allendale, Mich.  Â
