Chico State women's basketball standout Hannah Womack has enjoyed a lot of big scoring games in her Wildcat career, contributing 10 or more points in 33 contests dating back to the 2012-13 season. Last Saturday the Redding native delivered her biggest scoring night to date, dropping in a career-high 25 points to lead the 'Cats to their first conference win of the season. Womack's performance has scored the senior guard Wildcat of the Week honors.
Womack knocked down six field goals – including three from behind the 3-point arc – in Saturday's 85-79 victory over Cal State Stanislaus, helping Chico State snap a brief two-game losing streak and moving the Wildcats to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play. Womack made huge contributions in other areas as well, draining a career-high 10 free throws against the Warriors while grabbing a career-best seven rebounds. She also added a steal and assist in the Wildcats' win.
Womack currently ranks fifth in the CCAA in scoring, averaging 15.0 points a game, and is fourth among conference players in free throw percentage (85.7 percent) and 3-pointers (13). She's also averaging 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists a contest.
This Saturday Womack and the Wildcats will once again face Cal State Stanislaus, this time in the friendly confines of Acker Gym. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
