Chico State freshman goalkeeper Luke Dennison saw the most action of his fledgling collegiate career over the weekend. Playing behind a banged up back third, Dennison responded with two of his best efforts of the season as the Wildcats beat BYU-Hawaii 2-1 and Holy Names 1-0, extending their season-opening unbeaten streak to six matches.
 
Dennison saved a season-high six shots in Thursday's 1-0 win against BYU-Hawaii, netting his fourth shutout in the process. He surrendered only his second goal of the season in the first half Saturday, but responded with a trio of second-half saves as the Wildcats came from behind to win.
 
Dennison is now 5-0-1 as a starter for the Wildcats, ranked 5^th in the nation and 1^st in the West Region. The Pinole Valley High School product ranks seventh in the nation with a goals-against-average of 0.321 and a saves percentage of .895.
 
He'll attempt to improve upon those numbers when the Wildcats open California Collegiate Athletic Association play this weekend at Cal State Dominguez Hills (Friday at 7 p.m.) and Cal State L.A. (Sunday at 11:30 a.m.).
