Chico State junior guard Rashad Parker scored a career high 15 points and dished out four assists to lead the Wildcats to their most lopsided California Collegiate Athletic Association victory ever, 86-48, at Cal State Stanislaus Saturday night.
Parker made 5-of-7 shots, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed a pair of rebounds and committed just one turnover in 32 minutes of action to earn Wildcat of the Week honors.
Parker, making just his fourth collegiate start, did most of his damage early, scoring 12 points during a 62-second spurt that put the Wildcats in control 13-4.
The Castro Valley High School product is averaging 11 points and 2.5 assists in the last four games – all starts. He’s hit 10 of his 21 3-point attempts (47 percent) during that stretch.
Parker currently ranks second on the team with 13 made 3-pointers and he’s also second assists per game at 2.4.
Parker will presumably be making his fifth career start Friday night when the Wildcats face Sonoma State.
They’ll host San Francisco State Saturday prior to embarking on a stretch in which they’ll play eight of their next 10 games away from Acker Gym.
