Biography

Second year in the Wildcats’ program…Pre-Chico Days: Played one season at San Diego Mesa College, helping lead the Olympians to a share of the 2019 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title…Ranked second among all California junior college players with 490 kills, and third statewide with 5.0 kills per set…Named the 2019 PCAC Player of the Year, team MVP, and San Diego Mesa Female Athlete of the Year, while also earning All-Region and All-State honors…Began her collegiate career at Boise State in Boise, Idaho, appearing in 12 matches as a true freshman in 2017… A 2017 graduate of Westview High School in San Diego…First Team All-Palomar League selection and team MVP as a senior…Earned All-PL Honorable Mention in 2015…Named to All-Academic Team four straight years…Personal: Born October 8, 1999, in Littleton, Colorado…Daughter of Scott and Shelly…Has two older brothers, Nick and Ben…Her mom is her hero (“She continues to inspire me every day with her preservation to be the best version of herself. She is so incredibly caring and selfless and shows me immense amounts of love”)…The person she admires most in the sports world is San Diego Padres All-Star Fernando Tatis Jr. (“He has worked so hard to be the player that he is today and he continually shows up and performs to the best of his ability. He is also very selfless on the field and uses great sportsmanship and teamwork”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Biology of Sex, taught by Rebecca Brunelli…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “I had struggled with finding the right college for the beginning part of college, and once I got in contact with Chico I knew that the small town and family atmosphere was the right decision for me. I chose Chico because the coaches, staff, players, etc. are so welcoming and caring for the well-being of their athletes”…Her greatest sports moment is receiving the San Diego Mesa College Female Athlete of the Year award…Most interesting thing she’s ever done is traveling to Europe with her family…Most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished: “Transferring from school to school and struggled with mental health without losing my love for this sport”)… Has learned by playing volleyball that “You should step out of your comfort zone because when you stay within your comfort zone you can miss out on opportunities that will change your life. Also when you step out of your comfort zone you can experience life without the stress and fear of failing”…Enjoys going to the beach, working out, and spending time with friends…Ranks singing as one of her biggest non-sports talents (“I have been singing since I was a little girl and it is one of my favorite things to do in my free time”…Says “one of my first words was chocolate”…At the top of her bucket list: “go skydiving somewhere tropical”…Best advice ever received came from her high school club coach: “It’s better to have tried and realize you don’t like it than wishing you would have tried in the first place and wondering what could have been”…Majoring in communications…Plans a career in real estate, helping people buy and sell homes.
