She uses her platform and her personal experience to advocate for mental health awareness in the athletic world”…Favorite courses at Chico State: Human Anatomy, taught by Gary Lechner, and Exercise Physiology, taught by Dr. Ryan Perkins…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “At first, volleyball was what introduced me to Chico State. Once I came on my visit, I loved the gorgeous campus and the close-knit, small, and energetic community here. I loved how it was close to home and offered so many different academic paths. It felt like home, and the Wildcat Family and volleyball team made me feel so welcome”…Her greatest sports moment is serving for 13 points in the fifth set in the Wildcats’ November 1, 2019 victory over Humboldt State…The most interesting thing she’s ever done: “In the fall of 2020 (during COVID), I was selected to be an intern in the cadaver lab at Chico State. I commuted around 3 hours to Chico every Monday to help dissect and prepare a new cadaver for the upcoming anatomy courses to have in-lab. It was a crazy experience; outside of my comfort-zone for sure”)…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is being awarded the 2020 CCAA Volleyball Championship Scholar Award, maintaining a 4.0 GPA for three years…Has learned by playing volleyball “how to work with all different types of people, and the importance of effort and intention in everything I do. It has also given me confidence”…Enjoys painting and drawing, making friendship bracelets, listening to music, cooking and baking, tending to her houseplants, watching New Girl, hiking with her dog, and being outside…Her parents are part-owners of a bakery in Berkeley…At the top of her bucket list: “Going to Italy with my family”…Best advice ever received came from her club volleyball coach, Andy Schroeder, during her senior year of high school: “Trust the process”…Majoring in exercise physiology.
