REDDING, Calif. - Lindsay Macias and Megan Cape each recorded double digit kills and the Wildcats recorded 17 service aces as the Chico State volleyball team beat Simpon University in four games on Tuesday night. The Wildcats won the opening two games 30-23 and 30-20, lost game three 28-30, and came back to take the final game 30-22.
Macias led all hitters with 14 kills and Cape added 11. Lacy Stringfellow and Macias led the 'Cats with eight digs apiece and Erica Brick (29 assists) and Stephanie Aschenbrenner (17 assists) shared the setting duties. Middle blocker Crystal Triefletti recorded eight kills and three solo blocks.
Amanda Ley tallied five of the Wildcats' 17 service aces, and Abbey Ranzau and Stringfellow each added three. The 17 aces ties for fourth most in a match by a Chico State team. The team set a school record with 21 aces against William Jessup University on Aug. 28.
