Ferid Celosmanovic is the second Chico State men’s soccer player to earn All-America honors twice. Celosmanovic, a First Team All-American last season, was named Third Team All-America by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Thursday. He joins Ben Pollock, who played for the Wildcats from 1985-88 and was named Second Team All-America in 1987 and 1988.

Celosmanovic racked 22 goals over his two seasons in a Chico State uniform, which is exactly half of the school-record 44 Pollock produced over his four-year career. 

One of the nation’s seven repeat All-Americans, this season, the senior from Brcko, Bosnia, is attending the Seattle Sounders’ combine this weekend. Earlier this week, he joined Pollock, Tyler Cornell, Scott Wulferdingen, Fritz Libby, Oscar Padilla and Paul Mitchell as the only repeat First Team All-West Region selections in the program’s history.

Celosmanovic is also a two-time First Team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) honoree and was named the CCAA’s Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year following last season.

A transfer from West Valley Community College where he was twice named First Team All-Bay Valley/West Valley Athletic League, Celosmanovic capped his collegiate career with 43 goals and 25 assists.

Celosmanovic led the Wildcats to 28 wins over his two seasons in uniform – the most in a two-season stretch since 1985-86 – and consecutive NCAA Championship Tournament berths and CCAA North Division titles.
