POMONA  - The lone goal of the match was scored by Cal Poly Pomona with 13 minutes remaining as the host  Broncos defeated the Chico State men's soccer team 1-0 Sunday afternoon on an otherwise beautiful day in Southern California.

Chico State dipped to 7-5-4 overall and 4-4-4 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with the loss. Cal Poly Pomona improved to 7-7-1 overall and 5-6-1 in the CCAA. The Wildcats wrap up the home half of their schedule this weekend with they host Sonoma State (Friday at 7 pm) and Humboldt State (Sunday at 2 pm).

Chico State enjoyed an 11-10 advantage in shots and 6-4 edge in corner kicks, though both teams managed just three shots on goal apiece.
