SAN FRANCISCO - The Chico State men's basketball team began a new era under first-year Head Coach Greg Clink Saturday in an exhibition game at the University of San Francisco. The Wildcats lost to the Division I Dons 77-49 after shooting only 24-percent from the field, but showcased an aggressive style and earned 39 attempts from the free throw line.
Defensively, Chico State forced USF into 26 turnovers.
The Wildcats will wrap up their exhibition schedule at University of Pacific Saturday at 7 p.m. They open the 2008-09 campaign at Seattle University’s Elgin Baylor Classic (Nov. 15-16) and Western Oregon’s tournament (Nov. 21-22) before opening up their home schedule with the Mac Martin Invitational Nov. 28-29.
